Easter 2012

He is Risen!

I can't think of a better way to celebrate Jesus our risen Lord and Savior than with family, and that is just what we did.  After church we went to Pan and Craig's home for a Resurrection brunch.  Oh my there was tons of food and better yet family.

Craig, Ethan, Marie, and Austin

Casidy, Stephanie, Riley, and Shaun

Pam and Craig

I guess I should have gotten a Family picture, somewhere in all the confusion we all forgot.  Everyone had fun hiding and hunting eggs too.  For the first time in a long time I did not come home with tons of hard boiled eggs.

Guess what I did!

I know this is a picture of a card I did back in January, so why put it on my blog now?  I just learned how to get pictures off my phone and into my computer!

Yes it is true that I have a dumb phone, and the user is even dumber!  Very long story short...
Did you know if you take pictures with your phone, you must tell the phone to put the pictures on the memory chip?  Apparently that is what one needs to do.  That explains why every time I would try to download pictures my computer would say "What pictures"?   So the user just got a little smarter, and my dumb phone is still dumb, Oh My Gosh just how smart are those smart phones?

I thought I would post a few of the cards that I have done lately.  I needed a few get well cards, so I used one of my favorite stamps.  I think this little nurse is so cute.

I had forgotten all about this stamp set.  I found it while digging through my flower stamps looking for something to use in my current swap.  I think it is a fun card to do and I love how the front is cut away to partly reveal what is on the inside.  It is always fun to find and use something you forgot you had.  It is like getting a new stamp once again.

This Stamp said Congratulations you did it!  I did not want to use the "you did it" part so I covered it over.  A friend just had eye surgery and I thought the mock eye chart was the perfect thing to use.  It is hard to see but the background is an add from the old time papers about XRAY vision.

Last but not least, a birthday card for one of Stephen's friends.

It seams that I live in the craft room lately.  For me, well there is only one other place I would rather be and that is in the company of Jesus.  Oh but wait, He is there with me too.

A Beautiful Day

Today is a beautiful day, not to hot but not cold either!  My Apricot tree is loaded with blossoms and honey bees.  Stephen set up the bee box near the apricot tree in hope of convincing the honey bees to move in.  If it works we might have honey come the end of summer.

Alan is busy building himself a small fishing boat.  He has been wanting to get a small fishing boat for some time now, but can not find one he likes.  Therefore, he decided to build one himself, then it would be exactly what he wants.  He is getting ready to do a test run with the fiberglass.

Meanwhile I am working on a few projects.  I am not good at explaining this process; but you start out with a slotted wood platform, add pictures and embellishments to it.  Then you add resin to the whole thing and it looks like you scraped onto ceramic tiles.  I figured while Alan was mixing the resin for himself, I would then take a bit of it for myself and us it on this project. This is a picture of the one I did last year using two of my favorite pictures of the boys when they were young.

The repair man comes tomorrow to fix the hot tub!!!!!  It has been broken for two weeks now and I am really missing going in the hot tub every night!

Play Time

I was just playing around in the craft room and came up with this card.  I am not sure if this is going to be my valentine card for this year as I am still playing around with my all time favorite "Cupig" stamp.  This card is for my Secret Prayer Pal later this month when I reveal who I am.  This time I will sign my own name to the back.

Fritz Our Cat

Story of the week......Fritz our newest baby cat is as crazy/special as they come.  We are not sure which one of our outdoor cats is her Mother, but we are positive as to which VISITING cat is her father.  She is only about 9 months old and is already bigger (not fat just bigger) than Fatso.  She is pure white with the bluest eyes and the thing that makes her unique is that she has fantastic hearing (most white cats with blue eyes are deaf).  So I came home yesterday and Fritz was all wet.  I asked Stephen what happened to Fritz, he said "she took a shower".  Stephen went into the bathroom to take a shower and Fritz followed him in.  As he was taking his shower Fritz jumped into the shower with him.  So Stephen picked her up and they both soaped up and had fun.  When they go out Fritz just stared at Stephen as if to ask "where's my towel"?  So Stephen took a towel and dried her off too.  Now Fritz smells good and looks as fluffy as a short haired cat can look.  For the most part things are rather dull around here, but with Stephen around one never knows what might happen next.

Whats New

I have been busy in the craft room and thought I would share some of the things I have been doing.

I did this card for a swap I am doing, the theme was polka dots.  I just received my SU order and The Gnomes are just too cute, I really enjoy this stamp set.

My secret prayer pal at church is celebrating her birthday this week .  This is the card I made for her.  She does not have a computer so it is safe to put it up here.  How does one get away with making cards for the SECRET prayer pal when everyone knows you make cards?  #1 others make them too.  #2 you sign Linda Lloyd to all your cards.  Yes Linda you are getting credit for the cards.

This card was done just because.  I received the new SU Paper Doily die and I was playing around with it. It is hard to see but each color is a raised layer.  Each layer was cut from the same die.

I needed to do a card using buttons for another swap I am in so I pulled out my stamps that are designed for the use of buttons.  I do not have the opportunity to use these stamps much, so I use them whenever I can.

Last but not least...the whole reason for ordering the Gnome stamps....Stephen's birthday card!
